Mir 2000.1.29


Mir is the famous space station of Russia. Since the first module was launched in 1986, some cosmonauts had stayed there almost everyday and had executed a lot of experiments for medical science, space developments and so on. In December 1990, Mr. Toyohiro Akiyama stayed there for one week as the first astronaut in Japan. Mir's length is about 33 meters and it's weight is about 140 tons.

We can see the solar battery panels shining brightly in the central picture.

We found it in northwest sky at 5:42 pm, reached its' peak in northeast sky at 5:45 pm, and disappeared in southeast sky at 5:47 pm. The distance was about 450 kilometers (the nearest way). When we recorded the pictures, nobody stayed in it.
