Space Suttle "Discovery" (STS-92)
We succeeded in recording Space Shuttle "Discovery"(STS-92) with the 1 meter Telescope.
Date of recording : Oct. 13, 2000 17:23(JST) during about 5 minuties
In this shuttle ,a Japanese astronaut Mr. Koichi Wakata got on. On October 14 ,the space shuttle was docked to ISS and installed new modules "Z1-trass" and "PMA-3". Mr. Wakata operated a robotic arm and installed these modules to ISS skillfully. They finished their works on October 25 and came back to the earth safely.
When we recorded, the distance from Toyama was about 600 kilometers (the nearest way). The space shuttle was flying with upper side down and their payload bay's door open.
