The Telescope / Exhibition / Landscape

1m Reflector

The telescope, made of Contraves Brasher Systems USA, has a mirror of 1.0m, which is one of the largest mirrors of Public Observatory in Japan.
The telescope is alt-azimuth mount, and eyepiece is located on Nasmith position.
Since the height of the viewing position is fixed, you can easily view the celestial objects.

Exhibition

Room of Night Sky

Room of Night Sky is an exhibit in a 6.8 diameter dome. you can see stars made of 600 optical fibers for each season (total 2,400 fibers) and see the night sky even in daytime or cloudy night.

In this room you can also watch someslide shows on astronomical objects.

Wild Birds Watching Corner

Furudo, where Toyama Astronomical Observatory locates,
is a sanctuary for wild birds over 80 kinds.
In our observatory, there is some equipment for watching and learning about wild birds.

Despite it is close to the central Toyama (about 30 minutes by car),
